About Will Fullwood
Will Fullwood is a passionate mathematics and English professor at Wake Tech Community College who has taught students ages 3 – 73 for the last two decades. Will began his career as a high school Algebra instructor at A. Philip Randolph High School in Harlem, NY before matriculating to Fordham Law School to investigate the school to prison pipeline. After becoming a founding member of the Youth Advocacy Law Association and successfully bolstering a movement to raise the age of adult criminal culpability, Will returned to the mathematics and English classroom with a greater understanding of systemic problems in education.
He currently focuses his efforts on increasing engagement in the classroom using technology and creating new-age formative and summative assessment tools to make teachers’ instruction more effective and students’ classes more fun. Will is an avid poker player, and he enjoys swimming and playing the violin. He is also the creator of The Contraband Wagon, where he’s changing the conversation on race by organizing virtual and live race-based discussions.
